Baraka

Here’s my take on today’s coffee lid.

I see a proud, humped back camel walking with his head held high.

OK, here’s today’s “fortune” that I’m taking from this coffee stained image …I’ve heard somewhere that the camel possesses “baraka“–God’s blessing and potent protective power–and, thus, has creative, healing and fertility powers..
So today, I give thanks for protection, creativity, healing  and  in regards to the “fertility” part…maybe it’s a good time to visit the drug store : )

Man Walking Toward Us

Posted in Uncategorized on March 29, 2010 by Dan Giella

Here’s my take on today’s coffee lid.

I see a man walking toward us with his palms facing forward. His full length robe is destroyed— covered with rips, stains and blood. His head is invisible except for an empty silhouette.

OK, here’s today’s “fortune” that I’m taking from this coffee stained image…maybe I should start thinking about going to church this Easter Sunday for the first time in many years : )

Ripe for the Taking

Posted in Uncategorized on March 26, 2010 by Dan Giella

Here’s my take on today’s coffee lid.

I see a big blossoming apple tree bearing a large amount of fruit. The ripening fruit born from this tree floats in position above the ground and is just an arms distance away.

OK, here’s today’s “fortune” that I’m taking from this coffee stained image…A lot of opportunities will present themselves to me today. All I have to do is simply reach out and take them.

Indian Squaw Bent over in Sorrow

Posted in Uncategorized on March 25, 2010 by Dan Giella

Here’s my take on today’s coffee lid.

I see an Indian Squaw bent over (in the middle of the cup, bent to the left) in sorrow wondering how she’s going to feed her little baby. What she doesn’t realize is that the very ample answer hangs in front of her, overflowing, and that the baby already has everything a baby could ever need. Behind her (right of center) stands her bewildered Indian  husband  who tries to explain the truth to her in vain.

OK, here’s today’s “fortune” that I’m taking from this coffee stained image..I should realize the truth will sometimes fall on deaf ears…but sooner or later it will make itself known.

Falling Through Space

Posted in Uncategorized on March 24, 2010 by Dan Giella

Here’s my take on today’s coffee lid.

I see the legs of a person falling through space. The bottoms of her feet are clearly visible and there’s apparently an incredibly big hand about to intercept. The thumb is also clearly visible.  This “hand” will cushion the fall.

OK, here’s today’s “fortune” that I’m taking from this coffee stained image…Feel secure in all my interactions today…knowing there’s a huge hand somewhere out there that will catch me if I fall.

I dedicate this blog to “Princess” Elizabeth Smith from PS133  for being that “hand” for so many young students and new teachers.

Dolphin Rescuing a Distressed Swimmer

Posted in Uncategorized on March 23, 2010 by Dan Giella

Here’s my take on today’s coffee lid.

I see a dolphin rescuing a distressed swimmer from drowning. The dolphin is about to gently clasp the foot of the swimmer and pull him to safety.

OK, here’s today’s “fortune” that I’m taking from this coffee stained image…This seems like a continuation from yesterday’s blog when the victim was engulfed by an octopus and about to drown. His fate seemed bleak…Now, the dolphin rushes to the rescue and will pull the swimmer to safety. This underscores one of my dad’s personal mantras, “NEVER GIVE UP”.

Octopus Dragging Down a Victim

Posted in Uncategorized on March 22, 2010 by Dan Giella

Here’s my take on today’s coffee lid.

I see an octopus dragging a victim to the bottom of the ocean floor.  The victim struggles as his air bubbles to the surface.

OK, here’s today’s  ”fortune” that I’m taking from this coffee stained image…I need to remember that these are only accidental stains on a coffee cup…but with this said it is probably a good day to avoid scuba diving.
